I am not going to stop using AdiCare™ Naturporc
Søren Gjøl Jensen has incorporated AdiCare Naturporc in his feed mixture for more than six months and has observed positive trends in the well-being and performance of his piglets.
Søren Gjøl Jensen, a third-generation farmer from Jutland in Denmark, runs a pig farm with 400 sows where he produces 14,000 pigs per year. In addition, he farms 340 hectares, primarily growing grain and rapeseed.
It has been five years since Søren took over the Sønderballe farm from his father, fully disinfecting the housing to give him a clean herd. Subsequently, however, the piglets had problems with streptococcal infections, which are associated with encephalitis and otitis media.
"It's no use just dousing the pigs with medicine, so I wanted to find another solution," he says.

Tested AdiCarE Naturporc
"We bought milk powder from AB Neo after our cleanup, and I spoke to the AB Neo expert who recommended I try AdiCarE Naturporc. I was given a sample so I could test it," says Søren Gjøl Jensen.
AdiCare Naturporc is part of a series of supplements for sows and piglets developed by AB Neo. The piglet product is designed to support them from pre- to post-weaning. Søren mixed AdiCare Naturporc into his feed blend in the farrowing house and continued to use it from weaning until the piglets reach 15 kilos. He follows the recommended dose of two kilos per tonne of feed. "I'm a home blender, so for me it's very easy to use," he says.
Clear effect
Through a combination of AdiCare Naturporc and several other changes in piglet care, Søren saw improvements in the well-being of his piglets. He tested various feed ingredients and strategies, and over time, he noticed improved outcomes, with the survival rate in the nursery increasing from 92% to 98%.
Søren emphasises that although AdiCare Naturporc is not a magic "silver bullet", it plays an important role in his daily work. He has been using the product continuously for more than six months and finds that it has had a positive effect.
"When we reduce its use, we tend to see some challenges reappear within a week. The difference is noticeable, and for us, continuing with it feels like the right decision."
Søren mentions that his piglets have remained in good condition both before and after introducing AdiCare Naturporc, with no notable changes in their overall well-being.
The economics of the product
From a purely economic point of view, it obviously costs something to use AdiCare Naturporc, but according to Søren Gjøl's calculations, the finances add up nicely. The costs are more than offset by the improved performance of the animals and operational efficiencies, with more piglets reaching the end of their production cycle in excellent condition.
"Ultimately, it only takes a few piglets thriving with AdiCare Naturporc to justify the investment, so it all adds up. The economy is one aspect, but the other even more important thing is that it is not fun to come out and see pigs just lying down and not feeling well." says Søren Gjøl Jensen.
"Even if just a few piglets do well with AdiCare Naturporc, it easily justifies the investment. The economic side matters, but what’s even more important is ensuring the pigs are active and well-cared for, " says Søren Gjøl Jensen.
AdiCare is a line of nutritional supplements for sows and piglets created by AB Neo with the aim of addressing the common challenges of most production animals in a simple, natural and responsible way.
